I rode my motorcycle out here to try the hot dogs, as I've heard good things. The hype is real! The hot dogs were phenomenal, the kid working was friendly and helpful and the fact you can sit by a river surrounded by big beautiful trees to enjoy your dog was an added bonus. The gift shop was excellent and sold home made fudge which I've been in search of and was happy to find some here. Just about an hour from Denver it's a perfect destination for a motorcycle ride.
Such a fun spot! Wonderful service and delicious food. I loved the cheddar jalapeno brat with green chile and queso! Really enjoyed eating by the creek.
For many years, I have seen South Park Coney Island from the highway as we went past, always wondering about it. This time, I stopped with my 9 year old, and it was quite delightful. The food and location were good, but it was the customer service provided by the two young men that is worth writing about this morning. Despite being young, probably late teens, they were kind, described what they were offering, and friendly. Any business would be happy with these two as their customer forward face. Nicely done.
The staff was extremely kind. They had a delay on bratwurst that needed to take time, but they explained clearly and communicated with us. I appreciate the detailed service. It's a fun little place to go when the weather is nice!
A true roadside gem! The Coney Island Hot Dog Stand is as iconic as it gets—shaped like a giant hot dog bun and nestled right alongside the river in Bailey. It's a must-stop spot whether you're passing through or planning a fun detour from Denver. The vibe is lighthearted and nostalgic, with picnic tables by the water and a quirky, old-school charm that’s hard to find these days. The hot dogs? It’s classic comfort food that hits the spot. Perfect for families, day-trippers, or anyone looking for a fun photo op and a bite by the river. Don't miss it!
This place is so nostalgic for me, I try and make a stop every time I visit Denver! Between the river out front, the quirky hot dog shaped building, and the friendly staff, it’s hard not to have a good time. I’m not a hot dog connoisseur, but aside from scorching the dang thing I feel it’s pretty hard to make a “bad” hot dog. I usually just stick to the staples (ketchup, mustard, relish, kraut), but they do have chili options if that’s more your style. They have some dessert options around the side now, and there’s another quirky souvenir business next door to browse if you stop by Thursday-Sunday. The place can get busy certain days of the week, times of day/year, and parking can get tight so plan ahead. But either way, Coney Island is not to be missed!
Overall a fantastic experience. The employees were so nice and the food was delicious. There are plenty of picnic tables to choose from and after you eat you can treat yourself to some ice cream or shake while you enjoying nature and the river. There is also the opportunity to checkout and buy local art work! So much going on in one little place.
Listen if you’re here looking for the best hot dog for the cheapest price you’re in the wrong place. If you’re looking for a place that has a great hot dog, for reasonable price, and to go to a place that lets be real is a peice of Colorado history you’ve come to the right place. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and yeah it’s a little of a gimmick but I love it. The food is really good, staff is awesome and it’s a great place to stop and break up the traffic coming home from the mountains.
